ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This stunning contemporary painting is very atmospheric, dramatic and with a real 'WOW' factor! The subject is my interpretation of a phoenix nebula in space. It makes a great focal point either in the office or at home. There are many layers of best quality artists oil paint so it will appear to change when viewed from different angles in the room or with the changing light. It is deeply textured and has pallet knife work in parts. The main colours are deep crimson, purple, shimmery gold, creamy white, mauve, grey and turquoise, carefully blended. I have also taken a photo with the flash to show the gold. The top quality XL deep frame is extremely stable and resistant to warping. The pine wood frame is from sustainable, managed forests. The artwork has the sides painted in a complementary colour.

I am a full time professional artist living and working in Kent. My formal training for five years was in Wrexham at the North East Wales Institute of Technology and Design and I gained my qualifications in graphic design and illustration. I then moved to the beautiful Isle of Anglesey where I discovered my passion for mountains, clouds and seascapes. Since then I haven’t stopped painting. I have collectors of my art work, both private and corporate, in many countries and from many walks of life. My art is mainly contemporary and all about sea, space, mountains, clouds, movement, fluidity and the force of nature, whether it be a tranquil seascape, vibrant nebula in space or an apocalyptic ocean. I paint only in the best quality artists oils and use quality stretched canvas made from 100% cotton or linen. Whenever possible I use sustainably resourced wooden frames which are not only good for the environment but they are extremely stable and resistant to warping. The finished art work then has several coats of exhibition varnish added for protection. The artwork comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. My most recent exhibitions have been at The Knapp Gallery, Regent's University, Regent's Park, London and at The Malvern Theatres, Worcestershire. Enjoy your perusal and thank you so much for taking an interest in my work.
