About The Artwork

I had to crystallize the light at a precise point by depicting a moon or a veiled sun in a paradoxically blue sky and devoid of any cloud disturbance. Its slightly off-centered positioning on the vertical and horizontal axes of the canvas prevents the gaze from freezing and accentuates the idea of an atmospheric perspective. In the center of the lower part of the canvas there are traces of a possible construction, suggesting a current or past intelligent presence. The canvas was executed entirely in oil, which allowed me to work according to the different rhythms imposed by the size of the various surfaces to cover. I could also take a step back and wait while being able to get back to work on time. https://youtu.be/0SeqcCc0iWc

Luc Andrieux considers painting as an opening on the spiritual world that inhabits the universe. For him, it speaks directly to the mind of the one who looks at it without going through understanding, it is a matter of intuition and escapes reasoning. In his achievements, he always tries to bring out a kind of deep truth that shakes the mind. The colors, the light, the matter are assembled in compositions more or less abstract to arouse the escape and the freedom, both correlated to the desire of a dream world, fantasized. Through his various researches, he paints the border that binds man to nature and separates it at the same time, the past and future presence, the imprint, the passage, the presence and the absence of time. Its purpose is to generate an interrogative contemplation, certain that painting makes better the one who looks at it thanks to the emotion it transmits to it. https://www.youtube.com/@lucandrieuxpaintings
