I grew up and spent most of my life in and around Denver Colorado. I showed a strong interest in art at an early age, often spending countless hours drawing characters that caught my eye or images from magazines. I continued to be creative through high school and college some, but did not chose art as a career path. At the age of 24 I began to consider art as a career and began working as a decorative painter for income while easel painting at night and on the weekends. Through my late 20's and 30's I had many solo and group shows in the Denver area but it was still my side gig. When I turned 40 my wife and I left the U.S. to spend the next 5 years living amongst the wildest of nature in southern Costa Rica. For the first time art was my only job and I began to work nearly everyday in the studio, absorbing the abundance of inspiration from the jungle and a new culture. Recently I have relocated back to the U.S. where I am excited to re-engage in the art scene, begin to show in galleries again and see how the new environment will find it's way into my current work.
