Eva Levy is a London-based artist from France whose practice embraces spontaneity, speed, and raw emotion. Working with an instinctive approach, she rarely spends more than three hours on a single piece, regardless of size. This self-imposed constraint forces her to surrender control, allowing the paint to dictate its own movement, energy, and narrative. Whether working with abstraction or portraiture, Eva follows the same process: allowing the image to emerge organically rather than imposing a predetermined outcome. Instead of meticulously constructing form, she responds to what appears, pushing and pulling the composition until something compelling takes shape. In her portraits, this means seeking not a perfect likeness, but an expression that feels alive, one that carries weight, ambiguity, or rawness. In her abstract pieces, the same principles apply, as color, texture, and gesture become the language of emotion. Driven by the tension between intention and accident, Eva’s paintings thrive on imperfection. She seeks to translate fleeting emotions into something tangible, where each brushstroke becomes a voice in an ongoing dialogue between artist, medium, and observer. Her work is available through Saatchi Art and private commissions, with plans to expand into curated exhibitions and direct in-person showcases in London.
