Presidio in Fog Painting

My paintings present the viewer with opportunities to awaken to the beauty of the human experience through ordinary passing moments. Whether quick and fleeting, or slow and contemplative, these passing moments have the power to snap us out of the trance of thought and present life as it is. This image depicts a view through trees to the ocean—hidden in a white fog. I was attracted to the unkempt wildness of this image, despite it being visible from the road. The image is framed by two trees which lead your eye to the center. The approaching fog accentuates the sense of distance as the silhouettes of the trees begin to fade. It is a moment of natural beauty that silenced my internal voice and reminded me of the natural beauty and wildness that surrounds us still.
