ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Beeswax and oil pastel in a mixed media wax encaustic painting on a Birch panel 1/8"d x 8"h x 10"w. Framed in a 7/8"w flat front, matte black frame. Ready to hang with hanging hardware attached. Inspired by German Expressionism, Provincetown 20th century art, the medium(s) of wax encaustic. The subject matter and style evolved as I was doing the work. It is a Wharf I have seen many times and I just created it from memory. The quality of light in the late afternoon is important, in the sky and water surrounding the Wharf buildings.
