About The Artwork

More visually appealing when viewed besides other original artworks titled "Dharmachakra Parivartan", "Buddha Nursing a wounded Swan" and "Amitaav" At a young age, leaving behind a wife, a son and an entire kingdom, Gautam Buddha went on quest for knowledge, on a quest for the true meaning behind suffering, pain and death. What it resulted in was an entire body of philosophy that moved a king (Ashoka) and spanned almost an entire continent. This is one of my many tributes to the man behind the philosophy of 'ahimsa' (non-violence), something I believe we need in our present times.

Artist based in India. Wife. Mother. Date of Birth: 29 September 1964 in Roorkee, Uttarakhand (then Uttar Pradesh) They say that a woman's career is often cut short and restricted by various aspects like childbirth, marriage, motherhood, which act as an obstacle in achieving success. But women like Prabha, by re-entering and restarting her career at the age of 47, are setting a precedent for women not only in India, but across the world by saying that as long as you have a positive open minded attitude towards life and keep bitterness and hopelessness at bay, you can fully use any or all opportunities that life throws at you from time to time.Opportunities don't come into your life knocking doors, one needs to look out for them constantly and act on it. The story of Prabha Sharma isn't any different. Despite showing promise and potential as a young art student, her commitment and attention to her married life and family kept her away from her art career for almost 25 years. But when opportunity came, soon after her daughters left for college, she found it in herself to again plunge herself into the art scene, armed with an unwavering enthusiasm and the unconditional support of her loving family.
