RED ROOM Painting

For me, making is a ritual of remembering and becoming, an experience which necessarily recognizes intuition and instinct. To create is not to illustrate, but to inhabit difference, to become other, and to respond from within it. I have always been prone to abnormal perceptual experiences. I see shadows walking around the room, red orbs fluttering in the upper corner of my consciousness, bright lights and static washing over my vision, and waves of energy and sound that distort my sense of time and spatial cohesion. Painting is a practice of applying consciousness to these experiences in order to expand the possibilities of that which can be perceived.
