This piece has arisen from my walks around London. Snatches of conversations, memories, bits of history, architecture and random marks and signs all combine to recreate the experience of strolling through a city. The text may also refer to the artworks itself.

Born in London 1944. Early in my career I worked with the Archigram architecture group and the Light/Sound Workshop group. I have shown my work, often dealing with my experiences of London and issues of politics and popular culture, throughout Europe and the US.
I use and combine many different forms - paintings, constructions, installations, text pieces and digital animation. Usually these have been gallery-based, but I have also shown in other formats such as shop windows, architectural spaces and in printed and digital magazines.
I take pleasure in making things and in using colour; also in researching the historical and social background to my work, which does, I believe, make it more solid and complex. I enjoy writing as a way of clarifying my ideas or communicating them to others. I am currently working on a project about the south London street where I lived as child and combines my faint memories of that time with the contemporary events of which I was unaware and the presence of the street itself.
