Recent Analytic Ruin Painting

“Recent Analytic Ruin” is an exercise in contrasts- order & chaos, infatuation & dismissal, confidence & fear. I build my artwork through sessions of layering paint, and physically removing sections of paint by scraping and scratching the still wet oil paint. This highly physical interaction with the canvas has a way of capturing urgency and emotion while adding adding a highly tactile nature to the surface. The name itself is an anagram of thoughts, words or a phrase inserted into the painting at some point of it’s creation. I often take those words and scramble them, to add meaning, mystery and interaction to the final work. “Recent Analytic Ruin” will arrive to you ready to hang, with painted edges and hanging hardware installed (eyelets and picture wire). Additionally, due to the abstract nature of the work I find display in a vertical nature acceptable for this piece.
