When ever I passed by this building I wanted to paint it, but couldn't manage due to many reasons. One lucky day when there was no rain and I could manage my rest of the daily life stuff. I reached there and managed myself on the road side to paint it.

After completing my Master's in Fine Arts with distinction from Punjab University, Lahore, I embarked on a new chapter in 2007, moving to the UK to continue my practice while freelancing as an art tutor. Before relocating, I had a robust career spanning over 12 years as a lecturer in fine arts. Alongside my teaching career, I worked as a visualiser/designer in a software house, further honing my creative skills. Reflecting on the past 16 years, I must say, "The change in environment has influenced my artistic development, nurturing an interest in the excitement of dance and the beauty of the natural world." About My Work: As a British Pakistani, my work is shaped by both cultures and the emotions they stir in me. I am drawn to the movements of Mughal miniature dancers, the soft melodies of the flute, the quiet poetry of flowers, and the grace of Degas' ballet figures. These subjects require different approaches, and I shift between them instinctively, painting whatever resonates with me in the moment. When I paint female dancers, I feel as though I am dancing on the canvas – something I could never do because of social expectations. My floral paintings, on the other hand, reflect the delicate balance of nature, a quiet reminder of how everything in life is connected. I work with watercolours and acrylics, allowing for both control and spontaneity. Flowing lines, rich colours, and unfinished forms define my style, capturing the movement and emotion within each subject. The immediacy of the imagery encourages the viewer to engage with the subject and the richness of the painted surface. Achievements: 2017 – Invited by Pakistan Consulate, Manchester to exhibit my “Cultural theme” paintings created especially for Pakistan’s 70th birthday 2007 – A painting selected for their global calendar page representing Pakistan by CFM International 2006 – A painting selected for the title page of World Bank’s report on Higher Education in Pakistan 1994 – 1st position with Gold Medal in MFA (Master in Fine Arts) 1991 – 2nd position in BFA (Bachelor in Fine Arts)
