This is an original authentic Japanese Sumi-E painting. Sumi-E painting is a Japanese traditional painting using Sumi ink and Gansai paints on traditional papers. The subject is a Red Plum tree. Plum 梅　is one of the plant of 松竹梅, Shoh-Chiku-Bai, the three good luck plants, pine tree, bamboo, and plum. The artist created the beautiful painting with Sumi-E technique on a handmade Unryu Washi paper with freshly made Sumi ink and Gansai paint, and finished with Urauchi technique, a wet paper mounting technique.
