My art is a reflection of my deep love of the outdoors, and my passion for the ocean and all the life it gives. I've been a recreational fisherman since I was a little kid, when I used to take my dog and fly rod and go chase tiny little native brook trout behind my house where I grew up in Westchester County, New York. The older I got, the bigger the fish got, and once I was old enough to venture out on my own and explore the surrounding coastline, I was instantly "hooked" for life." My love of the ocean comes out through my work with my bold bright colors, dynamic compositions, and unique perspective that one can only visualize after a lifetime a fishing and spending hours on the water. As a completely self taught artist, my work is constantly evolving and ever changing. I taught myself how to paint in both oils and watercolors, by making mistakes and learning what works and what doesn't work. No one taught me techniques or a certain style, which means my style and techniques are all my own. You can't teach passion, either you have that innate desire to create something from nothing, or you don't. It stirs deep inside your soul, screaming to be released. I have been painting since May 2015, when I discovered my love of traditional media. In three short years my work went from flat soulless paintings, to vibrant, beautiful, full of life paintings that seem to jump off the canvas at you. Before I realized my true talent, I was an art director for a successful advertising agency named Weinrib and Connor for 14 years. In 2017, I left the advertising world behind and decided to pursue painting full time. In 2018, I attended various juried fine art fairs, The Westport CT Fine Art Fair, the Niantic CT Art Fair, the Mystic CT Art Fair, and the Scituate RI Art Fair. In August 2018, my wife and I along with our dog moved to Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. The Cape offers endless inspiration for me, and I look forward to pursuing my passion for years to come on Cape Cod. In 2019 you could find my work at The Chilmark Gallery on Martha’s Vineyard. In 2020 I opened up my own gallery called The Great Water Gallery. Located in Mashpee Commons on Cape Cod. 11 North Street, Mashpee, MA, 02649 In 2023 I decided to not renew my lease at the current space, and closed my gallery in Mashpee Commons. While I loved having my own gallery, I missed being on the water all the time.
