Redo Painting

This work is created on a handmade wood panel structure. Multiple layers upon layers of charcoal, paint, pen and marker build up the surface of the piece. I titled this one Redo because I've been thinking a lot about second chances, starting over, rebirth and forgiveness. I had begun this piece several years ago and could never figure out how to finish it. Always feeling undone. After years of setting to the side, with my thought process of redoing things and growing from the past, I begun to rework this piece. Leaving some parts as they were, others I completely covered and started over. I also wanted to build up the texture a lot in this work as I want to connect my sculpture and 2D work more, also I wanted to "show" time with all the built up layers.
