About The Artwork
Rene Magritte, the famous surrealist painter inspired this work. It was a painting that he himself did, as a self portrait. I chose to replicate his work because it represents Magritte standing in the light background but covers himself with an apple, letting only a bit of the eye peeking out. I believe this reflects a lot about of society as we rather blind ourselves than watching the shortcomings of our society occur in front of us, such as war.
