ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This collection shows a community of people communicating together joyfully. The inspiration for this art work began with portraits of my family members. It started as a tribute to my beloved ones. I selected old analog photos to create the first portraits. Over time the series grew to over 30 portraits of people who touched me. From this set of portraits I selected 20, by establishing communication among them, to create this specific artwork. All portraits are painted in oil and encaustic (wax medium) on canvas. I especially like encaustic as it creates a warm and organic effect.
