Laura Pellegrinelli (b. 1974, Lugano, Switzerland) is a visual artist who lives and works between Lugano (CH) and Emilia-Romagna (Italy). She graduated in Visual Arts from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan (2005) and holds additional degrees in Graphic Design and Artistic Research from SUPSI, where she developed her own methodology for participatory art projects. Alongside her artistic practice, she works in art schools and museums as a teacher and art mediator. Laura’s work explores the intersection between people, language, and creative process through participatory art projects and community-based residencies. She employs a wide range of media — including sculpture, performance, installation, video, and photography — to create spaces for dialogue, interaction, and shared meaning. Her research focuses on language as an artistic material, using writing and spoken word to build collaborative narratives and ephemeral experiences that connect human emotion, thought, and physical presence. Originally trained as a painter, Laura began her artistic journey working on large-scale canvases inspired by Abstract Expressionism. Over time, her practice evolved toward more intimate formats — exploring miniature painting and Japanese ink techniques — while maintaining the same gestural energy and emotional intensity that characterize her earlier works. Through her diverse body of work, Laura continues to reweave the delicate relationships between humans, objects, bodies, language, and emotion — transforming art into a shared act of communication.
