This painting has a pattern of circles with a motif in the middle that has shown up in a number of my paintings in various forms, originally inspired by an uzbek prayer rug. The colors make me happy. The wax buffs up to a nice translucent shine. Sides are painted and signed/dated.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I lived in Manhattan for 14 years after college, painting and working several jobs such as window design and studio assistant to John Torreano. I currently live in western Massachusetts and my studio is in Easthampton. I love the healing arts and am a certified aromatherapist and yoga teacher. My husband and kids are all artists of some kind. I have been working abstractly for almost 30 years, using paint, collage, and encaustic. I am influenced by nature's color, decay, geometry, botanical forms and patterns. My favorite artist is Richard Diebenkorn. The words of my college art teacher, the late Rob Moore, still play in my head, like "Say more with less."
