ABOUT THE ARTWORK
For some time I have been making work inspired on the Japanese erotic art of Shunga. I wanted to portrait the vibrance of colours imposible positions, textures and patterns that are reflected in this kind of art. In this series of artworks the different techniques, formats and sizes, as well as the combination of unusual materials like the paper silk, leather, fabric and pigments is what I wanted to be more experimental. The result of my pieces are in different mediums and expressing textures colours and patterns in a sensual way without being literal and giving some space to the imagination. In this artwork the medium chosen is watercolour on cut out high quality paper, just to let express the colour and shapes.

Inspired by my background in fashion patter making and couture, my work often has sculptural attributes but is born out of the traditions of craft and language of painting and drawing with emphasis placed on the process of making and colour theory. During my processes of creation I like to explore diferent paint mediums, materials and ways of manipulation of any element (pigments, mosaics, metals, fabrics, yarns, organic fibres) transforming those elements in sculptures or artwork's and make them look like other materials and constructing new processes for the application of paints, creating a collaboration between my own desires and those of the materials.
