This artwork of the Sahara Desert captures the essence of its vast, shifting sands through the dynamic use of spray paint and a combination of rough and neat hand-stitched thread. The spray paint evoke the sweeping motion of the desert winds and the fluidity of the dunes, creating a visually immersive experience. Rough hand stitching introduces a tactile, rugged texture that mimics the raw, untamed nature of the desert landscape. In contrast, neat stitching adds defined lines and intricate details, reflecting the delicate patterns formed by the wind on the sand's surface. Together, these elements explore kinaesthesia by engaging both sight and touch, inviting viewers to not only see but also feel the movement and texture of the Sahara. This multisensory experience brings the desert to life, making the artwork a tangible journey through its ever-changing terrain.

Since graduating with a Masters in Fine Art at Monash University in Melbourne Tarli has been exhibiting regularly around Australia. Tarli is an artist inspired by a passion for travelling and exploring. Intuition guides the recreations of her surroundings- reimagining the built and natural environment with simple lines, colour, texture and patterns that extend the boundaries of representation. With a deliberate application of acrylic, spray paint and embroidery, Tarli uses each layer of materials to represent the effects of human action on the natural environment. The first layer of acrylic paint suggests human influence, the second of spray paint suggests human influences and the third layer of embroidery indicates the impact of both natural events and urban developments on a landscape.
