ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It was a lovely day at Plaça Sant Felip Neri. A place full of history.. As many tourist guides pass the place, I think I know the complete story of this special plaça. Before Franco's time, during the civil war, this square was a place where a lot of kids took refuge. During a bombing 43 of them died. The markings of the bomb are still visible on the church's facade. Now the plaça has a school for kids. The city closes off the square every school day, so that the kids can play. After school is over though, silence and peace slowly returns, giving this place a special feeling of serenity

Cédric Visser was born in Belgium (1988) and grew up in the Netherlands. He started his creative career as an animator. He studied in Ghent and Brussels, and continued his learning with tigoboSCHOOL and tigoboANIMATIONstudios in France. Throughout the years painting slowly became a bigger part of his life. At 2017 he stopped working on films and made the switch towards the art of an plein air painter. Since that day he travelled with his van to paint in countries like Italy, Scotland, Spain and Morocco.
