Painting: Oil, Graphite on Paper.
An abstract landscape looking at how we treat the land, and environment.
Completed as one in a series, where I had been 'unlearning how to draw', opening up the freedom on stroke and line is controlled within space but free in form. I enjoyed creating this work as it felt like a rush of activity, manic in a sense of urgency - yet when was it completed, is it? That question of when to stop, relates to the use of land and the presence of humans within the environment.
As is typical of my other works there is no sharp border, the papers edge is the end of the work, the white space that holds the work is part of the work. Mixed media including oil painting on paper with over and under layering in graphite and watercolour pencil working.
