"Seeking" shows the search of the human being, in this case in a bar with an attractive woman looking for: attention, affection, anonymous sex, love, partner, etc. Wanting to get rid of that loneliness and internal emptiness and fill that void with whatever is possible... from a casual and passionate encounter, to alcohol, excessive partying... without realizing that what she is really looking for is in her, self love ... How many times have we not drowned this search and pain in a den? For this reason, the rapid stroke of the artist, to imply the movement of the dance, of the moment, like the gloomy colors that externalize her feelings and emotions. By not defining hyperrealism well as Cheng is used to, he helps the main character to remain anonymous (any woman or person could be here). The answers are within. Cheng reminds us, that we are social and spiritual beings, to awaken and begin to value ourselves, and discover self love.
