MICHELE DE AGOSTINI Born in 1973, he graduated in 1998 from the Cordenons Art Institute (IT). Then, in 2002, after a brief creative wandering, touching on several artistic disciplines (fresco making, sculpture and painting simposiums, comics, illustrations and even singer in a rock band) he moved to Paris in search of a new experience. His work is an interplay between the building action of matter and the erasure of the same, through the use of unorthodox tools, such as plasterer's spatulas, plexiglas sheets, knives and paintbrushes too. He thus symbolizes the dynamics of Chaos's equilibrium within a natural, material, chromatic, structural and contextual aesthetic: an eternal wondering, not about why, but about how. The anthropophagous theme is often a pretext for a visceral and spontaneous doubt, totally in coherence with the brutal values of a being in survival. "We are a system, trying, as best as we can, to survive." His choice for the abstract language is dictated by a very simple observation: In Art, the point is not the support or the material, the medium or the technique, but the essential thing is, what lies in the middle, between the void and the products that are going to overwhelm it. In 2005, with the presentation of his work, he created the Sliding Painting: It is the sliding of tools loaded with material that leaves a trace, the trace of the man: the support being the field on which the palette is composed and gives life to an embryonic composition « in the making ». In 2006 the Dermatisme Volontariste was born, a definition with which he theorizes his artistic approach.
