About The Artwork
I was inspired while I was painting the still life of Cactus. They are just so cool, with so many variants with different shades of green. Some with flowers and some without, they are charming and resilient. Oftentimes, I feel pain when Cactus try to appeal itself with colorful flowers desperately while surviving the harsh environment in the desert. Simultaneously trying to reach out the world through with its thorns. Motivation There is a teaching in Israel wherein mothers guide their children to “become like Sabra”, which means to overcome difficult situations like Cactus. I’d like to depict the strikingly still life of Cacti, enduring all things, no matter how painful or difficult the situation is.
