Sharp as a Razor Artwork

This is a Mixed Media piece, incorporating painting, photography, resin, metallic leaf, metallic and textural mediums. In pre-framed size, this piece is 16x12 inches, it increases in size to 17x13 inches in the floating frame that it is mounted in. Ideally suited in a place where the light changes throughout the day. The paint and metallic under the resin reacts to how the light is hitting it and can change the piece dramatically, giving it real depth and energy. What I can't show in these photographs is the resin finish, it is a crystal-clear water like finish that gives the piece an almost three-dimensional feel, there are ‘imperfections’ to the finish, some are encouraged and some are random, adding to the overall feel and narrative of the piece. ‘Sharp as a Razor’ is provocative image, challenging the way we look at the human figure. The way the blues, gold and silver work over the texture, provides many different ways of viewing the same image. I have a set a pretty strong intention to create artwork that inspires people to connect with that part of themselves that makes them feel truly alive and magnetically present. ‘Sharp as a Razor’, celebrates bravery and courage, the path we walk to get to where we are. It is work that portrays our beautiful individuality, deep connected humanity and energetic bond to life, our human connection, our connection to all other life and our deep interconnectivity to the planet we live on.
