TORI WHITE IS A PAINTER actress and film maker based in Venice, CA. raised in Seattle, she began painting at an early age. self taught, her style has evolved through the years to become what you see in this collection. in her figurative series, color has been replaced by wood tones, abstract faces have grown bodies and become recognizable, each piece focusing on the internal struggle of one individual, but the pillar of her work remains consistent; raw emotion delivered through emotionally conflicted characters.  Her landscapes are hauntingly compelling, offering a suggestion of a story but leaving the viewer to wonder. Representing the stillness of the desert and the beautiful reality of the loneliness of human existence. arriving in los angeles on her own at age 18, she began painting on found scrap wood, rather than expensive canvas.  she grew to love and incorporate the intricacies, depth and aliveness of the wood into her work.  soon the paintings began to come alive, she now lives with them in her studio in Venice, CA.
