Goes well in this casual kitchen area.
Works well above this writing table.
I wanted to do something inspired by Georgia Okeefe but I also wanted it to be something familiar and comforting. I changed the colors of the peony in Photoshop. I wanted to make the peony the colors of Baskin Robbin's Sherbert. I wanted it to look soft and inviting. The green to me is similar to the sherbert flavor daiquiri ice which was my favorite as a child. I hope the viewer feels happy and that something about it reminds them of something good from their childhood.

I was Born in Roswell, New Mexico and raised in New Orleans and Ft. Worth, Texas. While studying Art History in college, I realized that I was no longer content to merely observe art, I needed to create it. Painting my connection to humanity and nature sparked my curiosity and allowed me to hyperfocus on a level I had never experienced before. Everyday life pulls my brain in a million different directions, but when I’m painting the nature I see in Colorado or Texas, I am completely present in that moment. When I paint, my greatest worries are about color, the process, proportion and the way the light hits a branch or the petal on a flower. I love how it feels to lay a line down a canvas or recreate a certain shade of a color.
