ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My work represents the Delphic Sibyl, evoking Michelangelo's iconic fresco in the Sistine Chapel. Using an ancient linen canvas technique, I sought to capture the energy and sacredness of the original. The Sibyl is depicted in a majestic and dynamic pose, her features expressing intense spirituality...

I have always had an artistic look at the world: I observed nature and dreamed of scenery. My first real discovery of art took place when, in front of the Impressionist paintings, I felt the desire to reproduce everything that excited me. I was deeply struck by the ability of art to arouse emotions, to communicate through images that speak without words. I wanted to capture beauty and tell visual stories. From that moment I felt that I wanted to become an artist to express myself, to create something unique and to thoroughly explore my inner world. The central themes of my artistic work are mainly two: the exploration of the human soul, especially the female one, and the importance of passing time. I try to represent the feelings that cross the various aspects of life, also giving voice to what may seem hidden or to be discovered. The theme of time, for me, highlights how everything is subject to transformation and how sometimes what has been can return in a new form. I am inspired by natural symbols with bright colours, since colour is the main vehicle of emotions. The hourglass is a symbol that particularly inspires me. Through my art, I want spectators, interpreting my works according to their sensitivity, to be able to find and recognise their emotions. My artistic approach is based on a vibrant and symbolic style, where intense colours and hyper-real shapes play an essential role. For me, the choice of colours is fundamental: I use high quality pigments, because I love working with saturated and bright colours. I never stop exploring new techniques, but oil on canvas remains my greatest passion. I currently love creating paradoxical hyperreal images" In the silence of colours and in the breath of time, I try to reveal the hidden soul in every form, letting the heart of the beholder speak more than my hand.
