Signs of a Religious Soul is part of the unfinished series 'portraits of the self'. First of all I hope the viewers will feel some connection not just with this painting but also with the psychology behind it. I really want the audience to feel and think about what they see and try to connect and decode the whole that forms that work. As in the vast majority of my works equally in this work the colours were applied meticulously taking into account their values and meanings. What inspired the work was the two following questions: - Does people seek religion to cope with a fear of death, or religion is the basis for morality? - What makes religion achieve mass acceptance? This painting is nothing to do with theological questions vs answers about the existence or nature of God. Starting from here I wanted to make something 'powerful' at the same level as this two questions. Something from now to tomorrow. • This artwork is and original unique • Include Certificates of Authenticity and Declaration of Authenticity • Signed by the artist • All the copy rights reserved

★ Carlos Simpson is an Entrepreneur, Strategic Graphic Designer, Artist, Musician, and Author in London – United Kingdom. “From my five-year-old until today, I dedicate myself and my life to the Arts. I’ve never learned how to paint, sing, and how to play music, but from a noticeably early age I learned something that I consider to be my greatest asset: “Never be afraid to be myself.” And this way inspires other people to be better humans. The fact that I’ve never met anyone from my family was the reason that inspired me from an early age to the imagination and creation of a new world that introduced me to the world of art and culture. My Art is an anthropological and philosophical study with the intention of better understanding first the Man / Woman and everything that surrounds him/her to understand my own existence as an individual and evolutionary matter.” ★ Carlos Simpson explores the complex relationships between art, beauty, religion, science, life, and death, gender dynamics, questions society constructs, and gender empowerment.
