ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is an ode to the layered and playful works of Rauschenberg, a nod to Warhol and his repetitious nature. Mainly it is a work that boldly layers images of old abandoned metal, crumpled dismantled cars, metal sheeting from building sites. The top layer of ochres and dark blue, nod towards my obsession with rust and the passing of time. This is a strong painting for a large wall. Its stature at 190cm x 180cm is colossal, and its impact is felt in the spacious room. Oil and gel print on canvas
