When I was 13 years old I had to go to Bangkok to work in what's now known as a sweat shop, we called it a factory back then, we made shirts from early morning till late in the evening with one day off a week, which was a Sunday. We worked, ate and slept in the same place but still it was better then the rice fields I came from.

One Sunday I went for a walk I didn't get far, came across an old art studio with an old man painting with oil paints and I stood and watched him for ages, he invited me in and showed me what he was doing, showed me round his studio.

I knew I wanted to be like that old man and paint, I loved that old studio, I loved the chaos the smell of paint, varnish it was fascinating and I was well and truly hooked. I didn't know how I was going to do it but I knew one day I was going to be an artist but, I remember thinking it would be easier to walk on the moon then me becoming an artist, now I’m looking down from the moon.

I have a number of diverse styles and influences, I have customers all over the world, including America, Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Holland, Monaco, Peru, Scotland, South Korea, and Thailand, I’m very proud of that.

I used to think I was lucky, I’ve had some amazing reviews, but that comes with hard work, keeping to time tables, having descriptions that fit the work, responding to queries quickly, keeping clients informed of delivery progress, following up to make sure they are happy with their paintings and above all exceeding their expectations. The result that people can write such beautiful words, words I have to look up in a dictionary to understand is very humbling for me. I want a trusted brand that clients know I will always put them first.

I’ve had an exhibition, I’ve had people from many parts of the world speaking different languages talking and writing about my work, which I find humbling, but the best exhibition of all………those of my paintings hanging on walls at homes, offices and hotels of my valued clients, I’m a very lucky girl

Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
