Kemal Yazici mainly creates his artworks by using squeegees, palette knives and construction tools. His thickly layered abstract paintings are inspired by natural settings, forests, dramatic weather conditions, city skylines, the sea, sailing boats and sails.

Born in Turkey and brought up in Germany, Kemal Yazici is a contemporary abstract artist bringing to life paintings inspired by the simplicity of geometrical and organic elements. Kemal believes that what matters are not the tools but the intent of the artist. “We are the ones who decide what we want to bring forth into this world, whether it’s art or chaos.” He says. His self-made heavy work tools bring him closer to his art pieces. Kemal prefers the scrape of his tools on the canvas to the swipe of a paintbrush. He is adept at creating vividly coloured artworks with intricate details through layering and scraping paint. As Carl Jung wrote, "Your perception will become clear only when you can look into your soul.” Kemal’s paintings invite the viewer on a journey of self-introspection. Ruminate about the simplicity of intersecting lines, the contrasting organic forms, the bold textures and the disruptive nature of our world. In the depths of Kemal’s art, what will you find?
