I find inspiration in developing visual recipes that deconstruct the phenomena of pattern recognition to create images bordering between illustration and abstraction. I paint simple gestalt patterned nets that resemble mosaics, cross stitch, or pixilation. With these “cognitive nets”, I create pictorial series that have explored topics including semiotics, anthropomorphism, cartography, identity, preservation and transformation.
