About The Artwork
This is an original gouache painting of a collection of spices: cinnamon, cardamom and star anise. It is part of a series of paintings of foods that inspire me, as I love to cook and eat. I was taught the basics of cooking Indian curries, and that included these spices. Sure, I could do with a couple more - but this combination seems to reliably deliver a delicious, complex flavour that develops in richness the longer I've kept the curry in the fridge.
