About The Artwork
The painting is abstract but the title is the name of a port/city in France which was the site of a famous raid by British commandos during WW2. Clearly, the basic image of the painting resembles that of a human figure, against the background of sea and shoreline. As always. my paintings have impasto areas and are highly textured.

I was born in 1948 in Balham, S.London.I was a lecturer in FE from 1978 - 2008; now I'm a full-time artist.
I do acrylics, watercolour and oil pastel on heavy duty watercolour paper and canvas and use rollers,scrapers and scissors to get textures.
