About The Artwork
This still life composition is very symbolic and it was inspired by the classical vanitas theme, albeit I put it together with less gloomy subjects (no skulls). It's more about the luxuries of life. Champagne has always been the symbol of wealth. Lemons were once an expensive fruit, available only to the rich and famous. Bubbles are a symbol of the brevity or transience of life. The painting is varnished and ready for framing.

The transience of life pushes me to create, to capture the moments of beauty I see all around. I also studied Asian art, in China, Canada, and in Japan. Fragile rice paper gives a different feeling.
