About The Artwork

This work won 1st prize in the "Still Life 2" competition from ARTSHOWINTERNATIONAL in 2021. Also, Still Life with Maple Leaves was a finalist in the online exhibition In Search of Beauty. The exhibition is organised by the renowned art gallery "People and Pictures". My painting won the popular vote in this competition, becoming the best in this category among the 20 finalists. Professional oil painting on canvas in the style of realism or hyperrealism. Very detailed original realistic painting. Museum-quality artwork. I use the technique of old masters. My paintings are original artworks for sale, made in a single copy. The sides are painted, so it can be hung without a frame. In my youth, I was fascinated by the beauty and craftsmanship of Flemish and Dutch still lives. The painting "Still Life with maple leaves" is an attempt to reread the old masters’ traditions of creating harmonious compositions. It is a search for picturesque combinations and beauty in everyday objects. Pumpkins from my own garden is a part of composition for this still life.In this work, I want to show the fleeting of beauty of ordinary things. A bouquet of red maple leaves and orange pumpkins look very picturesque and colorful. This work is suitable for the dining room or for the kitchen. It also looks good in the hall or living room. Due to the careful drawing of details it looks good both from the close distance and in a large space. The picture is signed. The back shows the author's name, size, materials, and year of creation in Russian. Add a picture of a Russian artist to your collection! As a child, Iuliia Kravchenko enjoyed looking through the colorful multipage Hermitage Museum Guide Book, full of art reproductions from the renowned museum, and through her uncle’s sketchbook, archived in the family library. Those vivid impressions of childhood, as well as her own progress in drawing, encouraged Yulia’s desire to become an artist. While a University student, Iuliia spent a lot of her spare time in the Hermitage and the Russian Museum. She was particularly inspired by the works of realism and the still-life paintings of the Dutch masters. Those paintings enraptured her with the thorough technique and the full perfection of the whole piece, as well as of each minor detail. They made her eager to paint equally realistic. That was why Iuliia undertook an original training course in the Art Studio of L.V.Kuvayev with a special focus on ‘academic’ principles of realisticart and the painting technique of the old masters. At the same time, Iuliia practices artistic photography. Her main passion is composing thematic still-lives. Sometimes, collecting items for those compositions takes months. It is deeply inspiring to see trivial items reveal their beauty highlighted by her photo or art. Yulia’s favorite masters are Pieter Claesz, Willem Claesz Heda and Count Fyodor Petrovich Tolstoy. Yulia Kravchenko plans to collaborate with art galleries and participate in exhibitions. At present, she works in her own studio in St.Petersburg, Russia.
