Strange Skies was inspired by a stormy day hike on Mt. Osceola. Large clouds loomed over the summit and the sky became a deep blue-black. This piece captures the energy of that summer squall through brushstrokes and color. The Whites series was inspired by Baker’s hikes through the White Mountains in New Hampshire. She explores atmosphere, water and stone through mark-making and color. It is her hope that these works make the viewer feel connected to place through light and movement. This piece comes with hanging wire included on back. Edges are painted black. This painting is signed and dated on the back.
