ABOUT THE ARTWORK

See the beautiful, vibrant colors of this goldfish pop! See the intricate patterns and forms of his scales. His fins are so delicate, yet so strong, like a reed in the wind. The expression on his face is priceless. So much emotion for such a simple creature! Look closely, now look closer. This is Hyperrealism at it's finest. You could take a magnifying glass and it would STILL have incredible detail. So simple, yet so masterfully complex. This is a fine specimen and an inspired painting.

Daniel was born in Montréal. As a child, he began sketching nature and architecture with great passion and precision to understand and appreciate their essence and even to magnify their beauty. He still takes daily walks or bicycle rides in the city to stay close to the scenes which inspire him. He continues to fervently capture the essence, spirit and energy of all his subjects: animals, pop icons, portraits, motorcycles, cityscapes or landscapes in the hyper realism genre that is his hallmark. Daniel has no formal training in the Arts and like all great masters…he is completely self-taught. Deeply influenced by the Renaissance masters, as well as contemporary artists alike, Daniel has learned diligently and honed his tremendous technique through experimentation, study and determined practice. Those familiar with him and his work have offered generous support and advice which he is most grateful for which has used judiciously. Daniel's goal is to capture the veritable reality and underlining truth of his subjects. Daniel's ultimate prize is to see the effect of the object reflected in the viewers of his masterpieces.
