A study for the Torah is a cycle of works that includes more than 20 paintings, from studies to five large paintings. Each of which is named after one of the five books, the Torah. All works are done exclusively in oil on canvas. Many of my paintings are imbued with mythological and religious motives. I have repeatedly turned to the Scriptures for plots for my work, the time has come for Thora. One of my friends (by faith he is a Jew) asked me to write a work on Jewish topics. Before that, I had orders for scenes from the life of Jewish life, these were typical everyday scenes (tailors, shoemakers, jewelers), how the average man imagines this people in cinema and from literature. Reading and discovering the Torah, I plunged into history to the origins of the greatest journey and construction of the ancient state of Israel. Each painting I painted was written after reading a certain page, chapter, book. As you know, the Torah prohibits the image of all life on earth. Therefore, I had to abandon my traditional image technique. In my opinion, only an abstract image can convey the whole essence, emotional content and reveal, without violating the canons, the content of the Torah.
