The "Forests" series was born from a dive into the heart of Canada's primary forests and the desire to throw on the canvas the colors of these magnificent landscapes, the phosphorescent green mosses, the emerald of the lakes, the brick red of the mountains. ... Rather than forests, we should say "wilderness", a term which evokes the profusion and exuberance of plant life, nature untouched by human hands. These places bear witness to a world too old to inhabit human memory. The strange beauty of this universe invites the viewer to question its place in the cosmos.
