Summer Dance Painting

British artist Sonia Martin lives and works in London, UK. She is a recipient of a Pollock-Krasner award, and in 2022 she was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize. She is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and her work was selected for the Print Collectors Club 2024 Recent shows include the London Art Biennale where she received an Exhibition Award, and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad and she has been awarded artist residencies in Spain, Ireland, Bolivia, India and Mexico. Her work is held in private and public collections including University of the Arts, London, Morley College, London, Southampton City Art Gallery, Hampshire, Southwark Council, London, New Hall College, Cambridge, Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London UK Sonia Martin works primarily in oil, etching and monotypes and her subjects are a merging of the here-and-now and the world of the imagination.
