Ailanthus altissima is the tree depicted in this downtown street, durring summer time. Also known as "ghetto palm", "stink tree", and "tree of Hell". Very common in Belgrade urban areas where goes by the name "acid tree".Gives illusion of tropical setting to continental urban jugle.Native to Asia it was imported and used extensively as a street tree during much of the 19th century. Ailanthus has become a part of western culture as well, with the tree serving as the central metaphor and subject matter of the best-selling American novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.

Born on November 25, 1957 in Knjaževac. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Belgrade in 1986, at the Department of Painting under the mentorship of Prof. Mirjana Mihać.
