ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Still life with Sunday, more precisely - with his mood. This is a picture of a romantic bouquet - summer all year round in your living room, dining room, or bedroom. An easy-to-combine, cozy, classic piece created with love. Pastel colors blend gently without competing with each other, and small, burning red little roses on the left side of the bouquet become a bright accent in such a vivid picture - a particularly unexpected and highly successful decision to create a center of attention. The white transparent layers of drapery look like the morning mist and their presence confirms the theme of the painting. The flowers of the foreground are expressed in generous strokes of paint, some of them with mastechin (painting knife). Performing the painting is more typical of the previous period of my work, but from time to time I like to return to my nostalgic theme of "Love & Roses". Everything is a spin in a circle.

I am an experienced artist based in Lithuania. My paintings have been exhibited nationally since 1986, as well as in the United States, the Netherlands, and Norway. I have more than 30 years of creative experience, the last 10 years being a full-time artist. In 2021 I became a winner in the 2021 AMERICAN ART AWARDS. 1st Place / Category ABSTRACT; 2nd Place / Category FLORAL – REALISM. I focus on oil and acrylic paintings. My unique painting style is recognizable in the art world. The work is done with alcohol ink or mixed media - successful experiments with new techniques in recent years. All my life I felt the urge inside me to express all my life experiences and impressions in a creative way. First I chose handcraft needlework and working with textiles, but very soon painting in watercolours and oil paint discovered me. Yes, I really felt like it chose me and put me on the way to expressing something important for myself and for other people in my work. At first, I didn't understand this clearly, my artwork always came second, but after the really hard event in my life, there was no other option than to start listening to my heart and live the life I dreamed of filled with painting. My style developed from traditional Lithuanian floral painting to more and more abstract work. But flowers symbolize life for me and tell the stories life wants to be told, so they will probably be in all my work forever. I hope that my work brings light and beauty to other peoples’ lives. From the feedback and compliments I get, it turns out I succeed in this fairly well. Sources of inspiration for me are my own life experiences, nature. What I want to express in my paintings is a simple fact that light and beauty always win!
