Sunkissed winter's day Painting

As winter draws in and the days get cooler, I'm inspired by mountains, forest and snow I experience on my time out of the studio. Often while I am painting away in the studio I forget how cold it is getting outside, the sun shines through with deceiving warmth and in the setting hours of the afternoon gives everything a firey glow. This series of landscapes are inspired by the rich natural surroundings I have been enjoying since moving to Tasmania. The beauty of these landscapes is also influencing the figurative work I am creating giving a greater sense of depth and story. I love how these scenes give a sense of life and energy to the landscape, and capture the many moods I observe in the land while I am on bush walks.
