ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Medieval villages of Catalonia are a gorgeous mix of earthy browns, reds and yellows. Like patchwork quilts. The golden light at sunset intensifies the colours. Often in the heat the villages look like they are melting into the landscape. I use a pallet knife to create this textured and sumptuous effect here it stands out more against a background of raw canvas. The sides of the canvas are thick to add to rich effect.
