Abraham Lincoln had been seen the father of the state and placed into the hearts by both rebuilding the USA and removing the racism in community. Okay but how he had been placed into my heart? I’m an Istanbul-based artist. I began my artistic journey with ceramics and gradually expanded my practice into painting and digital media, developing a multi-layered visual language. In my work, I explore themes such as dreams, the unconscious, mythological imagery, solitude, memory, and time. Through both figurative and abstract expressions, I aim to delve into the symbolic dimensions of these concepts-seeking to reveal the porous boundaries between inner worlds and outer realities. Currently, I am in the conceptual and visual production phase of a new series, developed under three main themes: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Archetypal images of destruction and transformation as metaphors for personal existential crises Contemporary interpretations of the subconscious and dreams: Exploring the relationship between dreamscapes, memory, and space Philosophical solitude: The transformation of loneliness through self-awareness and the journey toward one’s true self In my previous work, I have addressed the following themes: Urban transformation and memory Justice: An inner critique of today’s systems, referencing ancient philosophy Time perception and fractals, exploring the relativity and fragmentation of time The female body and beauty within the context of consumer and spectacle culture Mythological, historical, and symbolic readings through nations and their leaders My goal is to layer these projects both digitally and physically, building a hybrid narrative structure.
