The Beach I Know Painting

This painting is not of one particular beach but a mash-up of the some of the most memorable seascapes I have visited. I choose to live by the sea not simply because it is more pleasant, but because of the two mysteries the sea contains. It can provide such raw beauty and healing wonders that can’t be explained. The innate human feeling from the feeling the sand in your feet and looking out over the water is that if you look out long enough, something will turn up. This painting is so thick with paint it is better viewed in person rather on screen. Building up the layers was ethereal for me because the sea and earth are made up of so many layers which often go unseen.
