The Believer Painting

This painting is part of a series called, "Legends from the Realm of Nepantla". "Legends" is an ongoing series of more than 15 paintings that show people conflict resolution. Nepantla is a 16th Century Aztec world that means "in the middle", a word they invented to describe how it felt to be conquered when the Spaniards arrived. My inspiration for this painting is Carravaggio, Valasquez, and Walt Disney & Abraham Hicks. I chose the subject matter of conflict resolution because we live in a world of conflict and I would like to show people thru each painting how conflict starts, manifests, and how one moves toward the inevitable peace. Therefore, I show the evolution, and not the revolution. I hope that when someone buys my work, they will resonate with it's ability & fall in love with the beauty of transformation.
